Type your crit chance as a percentage and your crit damage multiplier (e.g. 1.5× or 2×).
Type your average non-crit damage per hit.
Enter how many hits to see the chance of critting at least once.
Your expected damage per hit is damage × (1 − critChance + critChance × critMultiplier). Crit chance adds value linearly, but crit damage multiplies that value — so balanced investment usually beats stacking one stat.
In burst windows the question is often "will I crit?" — the chance of at least one crit in n hits is 1 − (1 − critChance)^n. A 25% crit chance means an 82% chance of critting at least once in 6 hits.
There is no universal best — it depends on crit damage and how often you attack. The calculator shows expected value so you can compare 50% crit vs 80% crit for your own build.
A crit damage of 2× means a crit deals double damage. Expected damage weights normal hits and crit hits by their probabilities.
100% crit makes every hit a crit — predictable but usually overkill. Diminishing returns mean most builds stop well below 100% and invest elsewhere.
