Calculate your monitor pixel density, pixel pitch and ideal size.
Try a preset:
PPI (pixels per inch)
Pixel pitch
Aspect ratio
Total pixels
Megapixels
Type your monitor diagonal in inches (for example 24, 27 or 32).
Type the horizontal and vertical resolution, such as 1920 ร 1080 or 2560 ร 1440.
PPI (pixels per inch) measures how many pixels fit into one inch of screen. Higher PPI means a sharper, finer image โ the same 1080p resolution looks noticeably crisper on a 24-inch monitor than on a 32-inch one, because the pixels are packed more tightly.
Pixel pitch is the distance between the center of two adjacent pixels, measured in millimeters. Lower pixel pitch means finer detail. Combined with PPI it tells you how good text and fine details will look, and how far you should sit from the screen.
Around 90-110 PPI is comfortable for most desktop monitors. 1440p at 27 inches reaches about 109 PPI, while 4K at 27 inches hits 163 PPI for a very sharp image.
Apple defines retina as roughly 300 PPI at typical phone viewing distance. At monitor distance, about 220 PPI is generally considered eye-limited โ past that, most people cannot see individual pixels.
Not directly, but it usually goes hand in hand with higher resolutions like 1440p or 4K, which demand more GPU power for the same FPS.
