See if your DPS can beat the boss before the enrage timer.
Examples:
Time to kill
Margin vs enrage
DPS needed
Group check (add players to DPS)
Type the boss's total health, or let presets fill typical raid values.
Type your sustained damage per second against this boss.
Enter the enrage time in seconds (0 if there is none) to check the margin.
Time to kill is simply boss HP divided by your DPS: a 10,000,000 HP boss at 200,000 DPS dies in 50 seconds. Everything beyond that — enrage timers, damage checks, healing phases — builds on this base number.
If a boss enrages after 60 seconds and your TTK is 50, you clear with 10 seconds to spare. If your TTK exceeds the timer, the calculator shows exactly how much DPS you still need — your target for gearing and rotations.
An enrage is a hard time limit after which the boss becomes unbeatable or deals overwhelming damage. It forces groups to meet a minimum DPS — a "DPS check".
Use a damage meter (like a raid addon) over a full fight, or calculate it with the DPS calculator from your damage and attack speed. Sustained DPS is what matters for bosses.
Use the group's combined DPS (the sum of all players) as the DPS input. The calculator is agnostic — it works for solo and group content alike.
