Find out whether your CPU or GPU is holding your FPS back โ and by how much.
Resolution profile:
Bottleneck
Which part is the limit?
Choose your processor. The CPU sets the frame-delivery ceiling in esports and high-FPS scenarios.
Pick your graphics card. The GPU determines raw graphics output at your resolution.
See the bottleneck percentage at 1080p, 1440p and 4K, and which component limits you.
A bottleneck is the component that limits your FPS. At low resolutions the CPU usually bottlenecks (it must prepare every frame); at high resolutions the GPU becomes the limit. Neither is a fault โ every PC has a bottleneck somewhere.
A well-balanced PC has a bottleneck under ~20-25%. If your CPU bottlenecks at your target resolution, a GPU upgrade will not raise FPS much โ upgrade the CPU first. This checker shows exactly where your imbalance sits.
Not always. A mild CPU bottleneck is normal in competitive games at low settings. It only becomes a problem when it prevents the GPU from reaching its potential, causing frame hitches.
Under 20% is generally fine. Above 25-30% means one component is clearly holding the other back and you should upgrade the bottlenecking part first.
Upgrade the component that is the limit, raise your resolution or graphics settings (shifts load to the GPU), cap your FPS, or lower CPU-heavy settings like crowd density.
